The Most Important Question Ever Asked
Part IV

In answering this question, we have said that Jesus is God, He is a part of the Trinity and that He was born of a virgin. In this lesson we want to look at the question from a different angle and say that Jesus is the answer to man's problem. What is man's problem? Why are we in the situation we are today?

Man's problem is the same whether you are talking about an individual, a family, a group, the government, the schools or politics. Man's problem is that he continually tries to live his life independently of God. That was the problem in the garden of Eden that led Adam and Eve to commit the first sin. That was the problem with people before the flood when "every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." That was the problem through all the Old Testament as the Jews kept falling into sin. That is the problem when a woman has an abortion. She says "it is my body and I can do what I want to with it." Some of us would argue that it is not her body, but another life. But even beyond that argument, Psalms 24:1 teaches that it is not "her body," it belongs to God. That is the problem in our government when we think we can have a government without God, that somehow we can be neutral. Neutrality is impossible as far as religion is concerned. (For instance: evolution is as much a faith-based view of life as Christianity is a faith-based view.) That is the problem in our schools when we think we can educate our children without mentioning God and religion. We are trying to teach them that you can live independently of God -- that you don't need Him. (Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.) That is our problem -- we are always trying to live our lives independently of God. We want to make our own rules, set our own standards, do our own thing.

  1. MAN'S PROBLEM -- HE WANTS TO LIVE HIS LIFE INDEPENDENTLY OF GOD
  2. THE ANSWER: JESUS

Who is Jesus? Jesus is the answer to man's problem. What is man's problem? Man's problem is that he continually chooses to live his life independently of God. He wants to make his own decisions, live his own life, go his own way. When man does that he gets himself into more and more problems. The answer is Jesus! When we accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you live your life dependent on God. Jesus is the answer. You must live your life dependent on Him. Will you?
